Kawagoe Flea Market

I love to get out of the city in a car! Today I went with a friend and her two year old to the Kawagoe Flea market.  This Market takes place on the 28th of every month. I enjoy being in a car because I am usually always on the the train.  The temple grounds where the market is held is quite small and it was fairly crowded and definitely difficult to maneuver a stroller through. I didn’t buy anything. My friend bought a teapot and a bento box. Both are very cool and I would have bought them if she hadn’t. As I write this I am glad that I didn’t buy them, I don’t need more “stuff.”

Petrol Station

The first time I saw a gas station in Japan it took me a minute to figure out where the gas pumps were.  Do you see them?

You have to look up the pumps are not on the ground here. See?

Raincoats

Japan is the land of superior customer service.  Shopping takes awhile longer because each item is often individually wrapped even if it isn’t a gift. Today it is raining and I made a few purchases at my grocery store for a luncheon on Thursday. It reminded me of the “bag raincoats.” I haven’t had one in a while, I guess I haven’t been shopping in the rain recently. They have perfectly sized plastic bags that slip right over the top of the paper shopping bags.
